The Infant Growth and Development course is part of the Breastfeeding for Health Professionals program. Upon completion the participant should be able to: identify appropriate and inappropriate weight gain discuss the use of internationally recognised growth charts describe newborn and early postnatal period behaviour in relation to breastfeeding patterns, and demonstrate knowledge of the significance of the relationship between postnatal depression, infant growth and breastfeeding.
Any clinical or non-clinical employee of a health institution who is required to have an understanding of breastfeeding practice. This can include non-clinical staff (such as cleaners, cooks etc) through to nurses, midwives, doctors and lactation consultants.
Upon completion of this course the participant should be able to:
