The Critiquing a Research Paper course is part of the Breastfeeding for Health Professionals program. Upon completion the participant should be able to: apply the 5 stages relating to evidence based practice to select appropriate information to inform clinical practice demonstrate a knowledge of the important aspects of basic research concepts and apply them to critically analyse research papers and articles engage in a systematic approach to critiquing a paper by asking the right questions and developing an individualised methodology document critiques using a 5 step structured guideline apply PICOTT to develop appropriate clinical questions on clinical practice concepts, and apply a PICOTT model to identify which appropriate evidence to access on any subject.
Any clinical or non-clinical employee of a health institution who is required to have an understanding of breastfeeding practice. This can include non-clinical staff (such as cleaners, cooks, etc.) through to nurses, midwives, doctors, and lactation consultants.
